Last week, I came across the term Brag Folder For Projects while scrolling through Instagram for content inspiration, isn’t that what a huge part of Social Media Management is? Anyways, to the point. After looking into it, I realized this is something I’d very much love to share with SMMS. Though the Brag Folder I saw was for developers, I found a way to make it fit for Social Media Managers.
So what really is a brag folder?
A “brag folder” in a project-based context is essentially a compilation of documents, presentations, or other materials that showcase the achievements, successes, and contributions made in specific projects. It serves as a comprehensive record of the individual or team’s performance, providing tangible evidence of their capabilities and the impact of their work on the project’s outcomes. This folder typically includes project plans, progress reports, deliverables, stakeholder feedback, performance metrics, and any accolades or recognition received during the project’s duration. The purpose of the brag folder is to highlight the value and expertise brought to each project, making it a valuable tool for demonstrating competency and building credibility in future endeavours.
The brag folder mentioned above is a highly technical one but if you’re really passionate about your career growth, you will take the time to develop the technical document either on Google Sheets, Google Docs or Notion using the details listed in the definition. A quick tip is that having a brag folder makes updating your CV/Resume very easy.
What I will be sharing with you today however is a simpler version, one that you can easily use and can serve as a foundation for you when you are ready to work on the highly technical one. This will also show you how your brag folder for different industries.
